About James M.
Fulton |
Our main purpose is to Educate the public on the musical Heritage of the United States of America which has been neglected by history, through republication and recording of Band Music. Several Years ago I came across several boxes of Sheet music from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. They were just sitting in the closet of a local High School. I researched some of the songs and came up with nothing. It took me along time just to find out anything about James Fulton. He wrote 142 marches but a well educated musician or band director might have heard of one or two of his marches. What happened to the others? Sousa wrote 130ish, and we remember and have access to most of them. James Fulton wrote music for local town events and gathering. His works sound GREAT with smaller bands as well as large symphonic bands. It is my hope that, through this website, Bands across the world will once again hear the music of James Fulton, and (down the road sometime) other lesser-known American Composers. |
